In today’s electronic battlefield, information is king. Given this
environment, embedded defense applications such as radar, EO/IR and SIGINT,
along with some commercial applications, are facing an increasing onslaught of
data. And as these sensor technologies advance, so does the need to process the
growing data streams. Fortunately, processing performance within deployable
subsystems is also increasing by orders of magnitude.
To help understand the performance trade-offs and benefits among
different processors, Mercury Systems continually evaluates new processors to
better understand their applicability for defense embedded applications. Today,
