Direct RF technology to advance edge digital signal processing

March 20, 2023 Gina Peter

Digital signal processing has been the impetus behind analog to digital RF signal conversion for over 50 years. As technology has evolved to digitize signals of wider bandwidths that reside higher in the frequency spectrum, we find ourselves at an inflection point, where the ability to directly digitize RF signals leads us to reconsider the traditional approach used since the inception of DSP.

This webinar is the first in a series of three that will introduce the concept of direct RF. You’ll learn the history of RF systems and A/D & D/A technology; the principles used for converting analog RF signals to the digital domain; and how direct RF affects the world of electronic warfare, radar and  signal intelligence. RF signal bands used for communications, radar and EW and the basics of software-defined radio will be discussed.
