Model 8256 3U VPX SOSA Aligned Development Platform, multi vendor operation demonstration

January 31, 2022

The Model 8256 is a SOSA (Sensor Open Systems Architecture) aligned 3U VPX chassis ideal for application development with Mercury's RFSoC based Quartz® data acquisition and processing boards.

Working with our partners: Elma Electronics (chassis and backplane), Interface Concept (dual-plane 40 Gigabit Ethernet switch), Concurrent Technologies (single board computer) and Crossfield Technology (chassis manager), the Model 8256 is designed to adhere to the emerging SOSA standard. It is a perfect platform for integrating Mercury's RFSoC-based Quartz products with other SOSA aligned boards.

To have customers up and running in short order, Mercury has removed many of the initial startup and configuration issues. To reduce the development effort and risk, Mercury offers integration assistance to select and configure modules to meet overall system objectives.
