Giving Thanks

Josefina Gutierrez, a Quality Inspector at Mercury’s Oxnard site, recently used our “Thank a Health Worker” initiative, which allows team members to donate gift cards to healthcare workers in our communities, to recognize a number of special people in her life. This included her sister Rosio, who has worked in the medical field for more than 28 years and loves making a difference in the lives of others. Like many healthcare professionals who are working on the front lines during the Covid-19 pandemic, Rosio, a nurse at Health Point Family Care in Kentucky, is unable to see her family during these times. In an effort to keep her family safe, she visits with her grandchildren through the window of their house. She is making one of the ultimate sacrifices to help keep us all safe.

Josefina also recognized two of her sister’s coworkers, as well as her niece Yuny who works for Quest Diagnostics in Stockton, CA, and her other niece Viridiana who works as a nurse at San Joaquin General Hospital in French Camp, CA.

As you can see by the below photo messages Josefina received, her generosity and Mercury’s efforts to recognize healthcare workers did not go unnoticed by her friends and family.
