Mercury is committed to helping close this gender gap by supporting women in STEM both internally and externally through a variety of programs, including the sponsorship of a predominantly female Brigham Young University (BYU) Capstone team. Ten years ago, cloud computing hadn’t yet hit the mainstream. Amazon Web Services was only a few years old, Apple’s iCloud didn’t yet exist, and the “as-a-service” markets (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) were still in their infancy. Since then, however, the commercial market has evolved, and so has Mercury’s HDS server product line and the modular building blocks that operate alongside it.
