Case Study: Building in Flight-Safety Certification into Secure, Mission-Critical Processing Subsystems

Case Study: The EGNOS common computing platform (EECP)

Mercury, contracted by Airbus D&S, is supplying processing subsystems as part of the European
Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service (EGNOS) common computing platform (EECP). These subsystems are being deployed across Europe under the EGNOS V3 program.

ECCP subsystems are based on Mercury’s BuiltSAFE ROCK2 open system processing architecture, which is designed for safety certifiable and mission-critical compute applications. ECCP processing subsystems, featuring safety Design Assurance Level (DAL) levels ranging from DAL-C to the highest, DAL-A, are in production and are being deployed in multiple airborne and ground installations.
