Mergers & Acquisitions

Mercury’s M&A process drives innovation, enhances growth and creates opportunities for our people

Since FY14, Mercury Systems has completed 15 acquisitions that have significantly enhanced our growth and value creation. We have honed our disciplined process, identifying companies that align both strategically and culturally, and believe this approach is fundamental to our history of success.

We seek companies whose capabilities extend our reach into high growth segments of the A&D market, augmenting the products we offer existing customers and the opportunity to serve new customers.

Our rapid, methodical integration process accelerates access to a broader portfolio of technologies, capabilities, and corporate resources. Kevin Beals
Kevin Beals

General Manager

“Mercury is an exciting, fast-growing, and great place to work, where individuals can make meaningful contributions to the company’s outcome have unlimited opportunity to feel a sense of personal and professional fulfillment.”

Before joining Mercury in 2012, Kevin was president of Micronetics, a small publicly traded company focused on microwave components and subsystems. When Mercury acquired Micronetics in 2012, Kevin was asked to run the RF and microwave group at Mercury, which paved the way for a string of career successes to date. Under Kevin’s leadership, the group has grown from around $36M to nearly $240M in revenue. The microwave group itself has grown over 460% and the mixed-signal group is poised for explosive growth in the short term.

Ken Hermanny
Ken Hermanny

General Manager

“Mercury has provided me the opportunity to explore different roles and responsibilities in multiple functional areas within the organization. It also allowed me to expand my role to encompass not only what it was we did within the West Caldwell facility, but well beyond it.”

Ken Hermanny, general manager of microwave and mixed signal assemblies, came to Mercury in 2012 through the acquisition of Micronetics. Ken began his professional career as a co-op from Northeastern University and later as a full-time junior microwave engineer prior to the Mercury acquisition. While at Mercury, Ken was able to benefit from the many career opportunities offered and has held roles in engineering, operations, sales and program management, eventually working his way up to his current leadership role.

Shaza Khan
Shaza Khan

Sr. Princ. Product Marketing Manager

“At Mercury, I have a voice. Everyone has a say as a valued member of the Mercury team. That’s how, together, we are able to move forward so quickly and keep pace within an ever-changing technology industry.”

Shaza joined Mercury after the acquisition of Themis Computer, where she was a director of marketing. Based out of Fremont, CA, Shaza’s marketing skills were put to work immediately. In the time she has been with Mercury, Shaza has never shied away from a challenge and has strengthened her understanding of technology and the defense industry. At the same time, she expanded her marketing strategy, analytics and partner relationship (channel marketing) skills to carve out a niche for herself and grow within her role as a product marketing manager, a position that constantly challenges her.

Nathan Kost
Nathan Kost

Sr. Manager, Finance

“Mercury has a track record of being a preferred acquirer built on its commitment to the people that come along and join the company through acquisition. The acquisition process can be demanding and stressful, but Mercury found a way to make it fun and engaging.”

Nathan joined Mercury in 2018 through the acquisition of Germane Systems, where he served as controller for two years. His focus at Mercury was originally on fully integrating recent acquisitions to include migration onto the Mercury enterprise resource planning applications but his responsibilities have since grown. Mercury ultimately combined several acquisitions, including Germane, to form the Edge business unit, where Nathan currently serves as the Sr. Manager of Finance.
